BUY JOE!

For the past couple of years I've been LOVING the Joe Fresh Style at Real Canadian Superstore. This classic high style, low price collection has me coming back every season to steal the next bargain off their racks. Yesterday I was checking out their 2008 spring line and I found myself completely overwhelmed by the delicious new colors and styles to choose from. BIG SIGH HERE...this is where I wish I had more money....lol!

But at least I'm able to get away with spending more than I could in the average mall, thanks to 'Mr. Club Monaco', Joeseph Mimran. Ok so my favorite finds? One favorite I received from my dear mommie at Christmas....Hunter style Wellie boots that come in yellow or black, for only $29 can. I've got the awesome yellow, check it out....SO appropriate for Vancouver weather.

Another indulgence was my skinny jeans with a funky artisan blouse. With a section for Sammy too, shopping has not only been fun, but just got a little easier.

Happy 3rd Birthday Sammy!

I'm a little late in posting Sam's birthday pictures, but the last week was so hectic I needed to give myself a 'time out'.
Her party was a lot of fun with her neighbourhood friends. They played games, won a couple of small prizes and shared in her famous Thomas cake. I hadn't planned for the event to go on very long, but they were all having so much fun and I was having a good gab fest with the mothers, it went on for over a couple of hours. Fun for all!

Happy Pre Labour Day!

Oh you mean, Valentine's Day? Oh yes of course. I DO like Valentine's Day, as the norm would see me get primped and primed up for a romantic dinner with hubby and exchange sappy and mushy greeting cards with a dozen roses and chocolates. Ah the days....
Well why do I call it pre labour day you ask? I tell you , this is now one important date I'll consider just as important as Sam's birthdate. Three years ago on exactly this day, a very very pregnant and happy ME, was sitting in my favorite Ottawa spa, 3 weeks away from my due date having a pedicure done. It was the usual primping and priming for a very special dinner with Wayne at our favorite Japanese restaurant. The esthetician performing my service had been talking away to me, asking several questions about the pregnancy and what names we've picked out, etc. She also had told me a couple of stories where she'd done some pedicures on pregnant women and have actually unintentionally put them into labour! Some women can be quite sensitive to massages on certain pressure points, even if the technician is being very careful. I thought...oh great...but wasn't TOO concerned about it, as we kept gabbing away at one another. WONDERFUL pedicure by the way and I went on my way home. WONDERFUL dinner by the way, then we went home. Wayne's alarm clock woke us both up at 6:30, with me just laying there with my eyes half opened while he closes his door to the bathroom. Then...SNAP...! I swear I heard a snap. Then a gush of water comes out...the first thing I think of believe it or not was "roll to the right, don't sit up, you don't want to ruin the new Egyptian 300 thread count bedding mom gave us for Christmas". Wayne came back out to get something and I'm panicking..."Oh my water just broke!!" (I'm trembling as I type this... haha) Wayne's like...NO WAY! He scrambles for the phone to call work and I'm thinking of the shower...why oh why did I get into the shower, as I felt the contractions 5 minutes later! I called the hospital, they said come in and we got in the car. I timed contractions 4 minutes apart and we still had 10 minutes to arrive at the hospital. All was well, a quick hello and register at the front desk while I breathed in and out hard...wondering if this was a mix of anxiety attack...haha ..they wheeled me to a room, I got undressed, almost right away had an epidural and Sam was born at 9:40am.

So this is why Valentines' Day is WAY more special to me than it's ever been. Now I have to run, as I have a little Sammy turning 3 tomorrow and I'm busy busy busy!

My Baby is Growing Up!

*sniff sniff*

Our baby girl is turning 3. It's hard to believe all of this time has gone by already. With her witty little comedy, she continues to amaze and entertain us in the most appropriate situations.

When asked what kind of birthday cake she wants, she replies with her finger to her chin...."uuuuuummm...." (thinking with her eyes looking up) "I KNOW! THOMAS!" (finger pointing into the air)

Of course she never requests anything girly... ha ha

So Thomas it is and I'll be congering up a theme for her party. To celebrate her last couple of weeks as a two year old, here are some shots I took from the last month.

Pictures!

Finally I've got some pictures uploaded. It's been a long time coming for the first one of the piano in the living room. Not only did I buy those champagne and bronze lamps from Home Sense, but I painted that wall in Valley Forge Brown from Benjamin Moore. I absolutely love it and there's more I want to do with the furniture and accents, but not for a while.

Then there's one of 4 pies I made...this one is peach berry. I did 2 blueberry and one strawberry rhubarb. Then I decided to make some bread in the machine and I did about 3 or 4 loaves...can't remember, but here's a honey and oat one I find is not only very healthy but quite TASTY!

Below you will find some pictures of Sam with her friends next door having a snow day. At the end of January, Vancouver got 30 cm of snow and the schools in our area closed for 2 days. Sam was happy to have her friends home to make snowballs and snow angels. I also took some shots of Sam and Max hanging out in the window on a snow bound day.
