Happy 6th Anniversary Hon!

It all happened in Vegas baby! At the MGM Grand we got married in the beautiful chapel on July 17th, 2000- while family and friends back home had no idea except for our best friend and my mother.
I didn't want Elvis anywhere near the hotel, as I still wanted everything to be as traditional as possible. We had our rehearsal dinner (see above) and rented traditional wedding attire. We even dined at the Hollywood Brown Derby for our 'reception'. It was the nicest and most memorable trip we'll ever have. PLUS Vegas is just way too much fun anyhow!

Tonight we went to our fave restaurant Red Lobster. Before we left he gave me the present he's been working on all week. Every year we give each other the traditional and modern gifts. This year his gift was wood, so he made me a weather station out of hard maple, purple heart and black walnut. It is absolutely beautiful - I'm so impressed by his woodworking skills! It looks like something you'd buy in a store. Thank you my love, it's so special to me! not to mention so perfectly fitting, as I'm ALWAYS talking about the daily weather forecasts. He calls me the weather girl. Maybe I should have become a meteorologist - and you'd see me on TV every evening reporting the next cold front coming in, causing our severe thunder storms after a day of brutal humidity and smog advisory. As for my gift to him, I had to come up with something iron, but it will be delayed a couple of days until I get paid...lol. Bad I know, especially after the amazing gift I received! Stay tuned tho...

Canada Day - 139 Years
Happy Canada Day everyone! I made a special Canada Day cake for our day at Long Island (not to be mistaken for New York... it's a private RCMP camp site for members along the Rideau river).
Wayne's mom bought a red wagon to pull Sam around the camp. Sam absolutely loves it and didn't want to get out! We took her around to see the events going on and she wouldn't stop running towards the competitors to join in on the fun. Honestly, it's hard to stop her at anything - she is bound and determined!

She also had a soccer ball to kick around with daddy and a gigantic bubble blower to chase around. Daddy is very tired tonight, as he's not used to all this exercise. He decided to take her for another walk and she discovered a swing! She signed the word 'swing' to us, so we walked her to where she sat on daddy's lap and relaxed by the water.
Back at the trailer Sam met a little french girl down the road whose family joined us for dinner. She enjoyed sharing her wagon rides with her.
Canada Day of course ended with the usual celebration of fireworks, but Sam was fast asleep by then and we headed back home. We really had a blast today and I'm definitely ready to join Sammy for a deep sleep! Hope everyone has a great long weekend!
