Sponteneous Snap

While one might think that this is my little Sammy doing her usual pose for the camera, it was in fact, after I had told her 'no'. A few minutes later I found her behind my plant with her chin sitting in her hands and this pouty little face peeking through the branches. I grabbed the camera just in time.

Catching Up

Well the painting is finally done for now, we just have to do a second coat on the kitchen between the cabinets and i can do that on my own. I just don't want to look at another can of paint for a while. We had Wayne's Aunt and Uncle and cousin over on Saturday night for rack of lamb and chops and Wayne headed off for Winnipeg on Sunday. I'll post pictures of the new paint color when Wayne comes back to upload them. I'm trying to get all things back in order, cleaning, laundry and some much needed sunshine as I don't think I even saw the light of day the entire 2 weeks we painted. It was a long haul and I swear Wayne and I were about ready to kill one another! LOL
Today I took Sam to one our little malls where you can sit outside a children's store and play with Thomas train tables. Sam loves it there and kitty corner is a Starbucks where I like to pick up a Mocha Frap for playtime. We walked through the mall doors and I hear Sammy saying over and over with excitment, "Thomas' house! Thomas' house!" She thinks the mall is all of Thomas' house. "Mama, play Thomas!" as I'm walking to Starbucks and she's getting upset that we've walked right by the train tables. I said "mommy's getting coffee then we can play with Thomas."
"mmm hmmm." She nods her little strawberry red head contently.
She patiently waited with me for my order and as we headed back to the tables she cheered, "Thomas! Play Thomas!" I sat watching her for about 45 minutes and then had to pull her away to get the rest of my shopping done. That's the hard part, but I said we can come home and play with Carly and Jamie next door. I told her to give the trains back to the lady inside the store and say thank you. As she did. I'm so proud of her now that she understands things more. I find I don't hesitate to explain things to her as she gets older. She really does understand and it amazes me because I'd try to have a conversation with her before and it's like it used to go in one ear and out the other. Now I feel like I'm talking to a real person. it's cool.
